Spotting Scopes with Built-In Reticles

If you aren’t sure which spotting scope you want, but you know you need a reticle inside, Bushnell offers incredible optics with built-in reticles included in the scope. There are two options available and both have mil-hash reticles built into the scope for ideal accuracy for longer-distance target shooting.

You need to know the distance from your target, or at least be able to gauge it so that you can accommodate for all factors including distance, wind resistance, and movement. When you have a spotting scope with a good reticle, it means you don’t need to switch viewfinders to feel like you have the aim you need to hit your target. Reticles are designed to boost accuracy, which means it furthers the function of your spotting scope by giving you a simulation of your down-scope view of your target.

Mil-hash reticles are one of the best options for your spotting scope for long-distance target shooting. Illuminated reticles will also boost the visibility of a target, which will also increase your accuracy. The thin crosshairs help with the fineness and sharpness that comes with long-distance shooting.

Reticle choice is often a personal choice, but we choose to place mil-hash reticles in our spotters due to their universal accuracy in target acquisition and aiming. Using a spotting scope in the first place means your goal is accuracy in long-distance shooting or hunting. This type of reticle is ideal for targeting longer distances because of the hash markings that help denote distance. When you look through the viewfinder, you’ll notice small markings, which represent distance. You will also find the easily identified center location, which helps with aiming at the target.

Additionally, when that reticle is FFP (first focal plane) it creates even better options for visibility. FFP means that your scope is going to remain accurate for distance no matter how much you magnify your target. Although it’s a bit more expensive, it is worth it.

The T-Series Spotting Scope 15-45x60 in the Legend Tactical line includes mil-hash reticle with FFP, making it an exceptional compact accessory for your rifle. It also includes a built-in rail along the bottom for adding red dots or lasers for further target enhancement. As far as reticles go, mil-hash is the way to go.
