National Sales Manager - Sport and Outdoor Eyewear #121-13

Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this position leads and directs the Sales teams to achieve the company’s strategic and financial goals in the Sporting Goods and Outdoor market segments.  This person will develop and implement the retail sales strategy and hold sales reps accountable for meeting their objectives making sure that their business plans are aligned with company objectives. This manager must have a proven track record of building sales teams capable of increased functional plans and improving performance. This person must have a hands-on management and coaching style with a proven history of growing and motivating sales teams to the next level being an effective change manager.


Description:
• Develop, gain commitment the implementation of strategic sales and channel plans and ensure the integration of those plans throughout the sales organization, shaping the channel strategy, sales fundamentals and merchandising plans in the (Bike, Golf, Sporting Goods, Outdoor, Marine and Winter markets)
• Ensure the delivery of sales revenue and profit margin goals by directing the development and implementation of retail sales plans to meet those objectives.
• Develop and implement the strategic sales plan and channel strategy for the Sports market,
• Work with product managers and advise them of new product opportunities and product needs to support the sports channel.
• Strengthen and build upon current sales organization by improving sales management measurement metrics and reports to clearly defining sales goals and hold the sales team accountable to meet those goals. Must help with skill development to lead our team to the next level and/or find new talent.
• Build a sales team that is capable of increased functional excellence and improved performance.
• Must help improve report channel analysis that identifies and emphasizes growth in core markets
• Lead National Account meetings and grow business to the next level
• Expand and develop National Account base in new core markets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Management

Attend all Trade Shows
Travel 50%+
Maintain and Grow Sales Force
Manage National Account Sales and Promotions
Forecast National Account and “All Other” Business working with Contract Manufacturing
Work with Product Managers to develop SMU programs for National Accounts as well as provide direction for new product.
Grow Sales and Distribution in Core Markets

Qualifications:
Above all, this person is an outstanding sales manager with the proven ability to lead our sports sales team to the next level and growing the business. The ideal candidate must have a minimum 10 years experience in Sale Management in the sporting goods channel and Outdoor markets. 
• Broad business knowledge and understanding across strategic multiple sports channels. Sales and be an experienced business development manager.
• Must have forecasting back ground to work with contract manufacturing and product managers to make sure we have the product to meet and exceed sales forecast.
• Ability to plan and help manage at both the strategic and operational levels with customer service and operations
• Experience selling into “Big Box” retailers, specialty retailers and outdoor retailers.  Has established contacts and relationships with key customers and channel partners.  Outstanding motivational and selling abilities with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience implementing a strategic use of Market development funds and co-op to drive big events and promotional activity with our key retail partners to drive sales
• Ability to attract, select, hire, develop, lead, and build great sales teams.  A track record of success growing and developing high performing teams.  A team builder, who leads by example, mentors and motivates sales teams to exceed expectations.
• Ability to understand the strategic impact of different market dynamics; responds quickly and effectively.

• College Degree, 10 years experience as a National Sales Manager in the Sporting Goods market. Winter, Bike, and outdoor experience preferred.
• Excellent Power Point skills, Excel and Microsoft Word Skills
