DC Supervisor #90-12

This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations in the Olathe Distribution Center; this includes the receiving, shipping, picking and packing of goods.

Develops procedures and policies that will ensure an efficient and cohesive distribution center environment while achieving effective business decisions that meet all corporate initiatives and objectives
Completes assigned training in every area of the distribution facility
Staffs, trains, evaluates and develops all team members
Communicates/coordinates/supervises daily activity to meet goals and objectives of the organization
Ensures that associates and departments adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Effectively communicates with all customers both internal and external
Trains all lead persons in all job requirements including supervisory responsibilities
Ensures that all associates in the department are trained and understand the processes
Ensures that all associates are trained and in safety practices and conform to safety requirements as directed by Management and the Safety Administrator
Confers with Management and associates on departmental problems, and makes recommendations for corrective actions
Compiles and maintains daily reports as directed by management
Ensures that all associates adhere to company policies and work rules
Conducts associate evaluations as scheduled by Management
Conducts disciplinary actions of department associates in coordination with the Human Resources Department
Represents Distribution Center Management at company meetings, functions and or activities as appropriate
Serves as a liaison between the distribution center and all other functional areas of the organization
Handles other responsibilities as deemed necessary

Olathe, Kansas

Education: high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

Years of Related Experience: 5 plus years related experience including prior experience supervising others

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: strong working knowledge of distribution center/warehouse operations including familiarity with city, state and federal regulations and requirements for operating a warehouse/distribution facility; solid leadership skills, sound judgment, and effective organizational and administrative skills; working knowledge of all city, state and federal wage & hour and labor regulations; good communications and interpersonal skills; Spanish speaking ability preferred; basic PC skills (Microsoft Office) including a working knowledge of automated warehouse management systems (BOSS, AS400)
